Ma\u00dfgeblicher Treiber ist weiterhin der r\u00fcckl\u00e4ufige Wohnungsneubau.\u202f\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>F\u00fcr Hersteller stellt sich damit die Frage, wo und wie sie Wachstums-Chancen realisieren k\u00f6nnen.\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>M\u00f6glichkeiten bieten sich in einer Intensivierung der Bearbeitung des deutschsprachigen Marktes mit dem Ziel, die Marktdurchdringung zu steigern und Marktanteile auf Kosten von Marktbegleitern zu gewinnen. Alternativ, mit zus\u00e4tzlichen Services oder Produkten neue Marktsegmente in bestehenden M\u00e4rkten zu realisieren. Oder eben auch die Expansion in neue, geographische M\u00e4rkte.\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die Expansion in die USA bzw. die Ausweitung bestehender Aktivit\u00e4ten ist eine derjenigen Wachstumsoptionen, mit der sich aktuell eine Reihe von Herstellern von Baumaterialien besch\u00e4ftigen: Zum einen, weil der Markt mit 2,1 Billionen US$ fast 5x so gro\u00df ist wie der deutsche Markt (Basis 2023). Zum anderen aber auch weil der Markt angefacht durch die F\u00f6rderprogramme der Regierung 4x so schnell w\u00e4chst wie unser Markt hier in Deutschland \u2013 siehe hierzu auch Graphik.\u202f<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2800\" height=\"1466\" src=\"https:\/\/prophet.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Construction-Graphic-01.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-34423\" srcset=\"https:\/\/prophet.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Construction-Graphic-01.jpg 2800w, https:\/\/prophet.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Construction-Graphic-01-600x314.jpg 600w, https:\/\/prophet.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Construction-Graphic-01-1528x800.jpg 1528w, https:\/\/prophet.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Construction-Graphic-01-768x402.jpg 768w, https:\/\/prophet.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Construction-Graphic-01-1536x804.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/prophet.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Construction-Graphic-01-2048x1072.jpg 2048w, https:\/\/prophet.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Construction-Graphic-01-1920x1005.jpg 1920w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 2800px) 100vw, 2800px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Im Rahmen einer Prophet-Studie haben wir uns deshalb ausf\u00fchrlich damit besch\u00e4ftigt, was f\u00fcr eine erfolgreiche Markteintritts- und Wachstumsstrategie in die USA notwendig ist und wie die unterschiedlichen Marktdynamiken und -strukturen in Deutschland und den USA zum eigenen Vorteil genutzt werden k\u00f6nnen.\u202f\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Konkret haben wir Fragen analysiert, wie bspw.: Was sind Unterschiede in den einzelnen Marktsegmenten? Wer entscheidet in welchen Buying Center Konstellationen \u00fcber die Verwendung von Herstellermarken? Welche Rolle spielt die Markenpositionierung? Oder bspw., \u00fcber welche Vertriebskan\u00e4le werden Baumaterialien in den unterschiedlichen Marktsegmenten vertrieben?\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Herausgearbeitet haben wir die zentralen Unterschiede in Markt- und Kundenstrukturen in den beiden M\u00e4rkten, wie bspw.:\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"disc wp-block-list\">\n<li>Wohnbaugesellschafen, die hier in Deutschland Objekte im privaten Wohnbau bauen, besitzen und renovieren existieren als Marktteilnehmer in den USA nicht in dieser Form. Dort sind es vor allem die \u201aProperty Developer\u2018, die diese Funktion mit \u00fcbernehmen und die ihrerseits sogenannte \u201aHomebuilder\u2018 beauftragen.\u202f&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fertighaushersteller, die im mittlerweile bereits ca. 25% des deutschen privaten Neubaus abdecken \u2013 Tendenz steigend \u2013 spielen in den USA eine verschwindend geringe Rolle. Stattdessen sind \u201aHomebuilder\u2018 und Architekten diejenigen, die dieses Segment dominieren und die ma\u00dfgeblich \u00fcber die Verwendung von Herstellermarken entscheiden.\u202f&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>W\u00e4hrend in Deutschland eine (k\u00fcnstliche) Trennung zwischen Vertriebskan\u00e4len f\u00fcr Privatkunden (z.B. DIY-Ketten) und gewerblichen Kunden (z.B. Gro\u00dfhandel) aufrechterhalten wird, bedienen in den USA die Big-Box Retailer, der Fachhandel und die e-Commerce Plattformen alle Kundensegmente.\u202f&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Eine einfache \u00dcbertragung deutscher bzw. europ\u00e4ischer Go-to-Market-Strategien in die USA scheint uns im Kontext dieser unterschiedlichen Markt- und Entscheidungsstrukturen wenig erfolgversprechend. Wir empfehlen vielmehr die Expansions-Entscheidung entlang von drei zentralen Dimensionen zu treffen:\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"decimal wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Strategische Ziele<\/strong>: Definition der (zuk\u00fcnftigen) Rolle des US-Marktes in der gesamten Unternehmensstrategie. Hinterlegung des Markteintritts mit einem belastbaren Business Case \u2013 inkl. der Beantwortung der Frage nach einer zuk\u00fcnftigen Supply Chain Strategie. Einbindung der relevanten Stakeholder \u2013 Unternehmensleitung und Eigent\u00fcmer.\u202f&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Where to play?:<\/strong> Transparenz \u00fcber das eigene, relevante Marktmodell in den USA und Entscheidung dar\u00fcber, welche Markt- und Kundensegmente ein attraktives und nachhaltiges Wachstumspotenzial versprechen.\u202f&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>How to win?<\/strong>: Anerkennung der kulturellen und strukturellen Unterschiede und Adaption der Marken-, Marketing-, Pricing-, und Vertriebskanalstrategien an die Bed\u00fcrfnisse des Zielsegmentes. Und gleichzeitig, Bef\u00e4higung der eigenen Organisation, diese Expansion inhaltliche und kulturell umzusetzen.\u202f&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"2\">\n<li><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"3\">\n<li><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Zur inhaltlichen Erarbeitung dieser drei zentralen Schritte hat sich ein Vorgehen in vier Schritten bew\u00e4hrt (siehe Graphik): Zun\u00e4chst abzustecken, welche Rolle der US-Markt in der Gesamtstrategie spielen und mit welchen Ressourcen er ausgestattet werden soll, um dann die zum Kompetenzprofil des Herstellers passenden Markt- und Wachstumssegmente basierend auf qualitativen und quantitativen Erkenntnissen zu definieren. Anders als in Deutschland nimmt in der Markteinf\u00fchrungsstrategie die Positionierung der Marke einen h\u00f6heren Stellenwert ein. Um von den Skaleneffekten des US-Marktes zu partizipieren und gleichzeitig nicht an den Gr\u00f6\u00dfendimensionen zu scheitern ist es wichtig, das Operating Modell der Vermarktung zu detailliert zu beschreiben, die Mitarbeiter zu schulen und die relevanten Kommunikationskan\u00e4le zu bespielen.\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\"
